LC 2.8a available

It appears that the corrupted file problem has been fixed on the
LC web server, and LC 2.8a is now available.

Version 2.8 adds some bug fixes, a new modulated sinc source waveform,
and new access to the far field raw data. One of the most important
bug fixes is to address a problem with the PML ABC.

You can read more about these changes on the LC "What's New" page:

http://lc.cray.com/new/2.8/

2.8a has a couple of minor patches in addition to 2.8, including
multiprocessor support for IRIX (which 2.8 accidentally left out).
2.8a also fixes a plot file segmentation problem that was introduced
by the "too many open files" fix in version 2.8

As usual, the distribution download site address is:

http://lc.cray.com/dist/SITE_CODE/

where "SITE_CODE" is your site code, as I gave in a previous email
message. If you don't recall your site code, just ask me.

Let me know if you experience trouble accessing the files on the
LC web site. I haven't been able to reproduce any file corruption
since the server was upgraded to Apache 1.3.6, but the problem may
still be out there lurking.
