lc-users mailing list
Due to some unfortunate circumstances, the lc-users mailing
list has been unavailable for a couple of months. It is now
operating again. If you received this message, then you are
subscribed to lc-users, the mailing list for discussions between
users of LC.
I also have some news about LC itself. I have slipped quite a
bit in my usual quarterly updates of LC. A big factor in this
has been the changes with SGI, in particular, the sale of the
Cray business unit (of which I am a part) to another company, now
known as Cray Inc. I plan to continue the maintenance and
distribution of LC as I have for the past years. I expect the
frequency of updates to be reduced to once or twice a year.
On a topic perhaps of more interest, a new LC distribution is
available for Linux (IA32--Intel Pentium). The Linux version of LC
is compatible with the other versions, although I consider this
first release to be of an experimental nature. Note that to use it
you need the LessTif library (libXm.so) from www.lesstif.org.
You can download the Linux version from the same web page where you
download the other versions of LC.
